You held me in your womb
for 9 months,
And kept up with all my
crazy stunts.
But there's more to it than
the biology,
Your umpteen efforts deserve
a book-long eulogy.
You fed me when all I could
do was cry,
You always know what I needed,
without having to pry.
I stumbled and tripped time
and again,
But you have taught me how
standing on my tiny feet
was so worth the pain.
I bawled my eyes out
on the eve of tests,
You helped me crush them
like petty pests.
Nights are broad daylight
to you,
Whenever my health is
'blue'.
You've always had an
unruffled faith in my potential,
Even when the evidence
wasn't substantial.
You give me the strength
to stand up for myself and others,
You supplement the courage
to swat away all bothers.
All the good in me is
a mirror image of you,
You're a natural empath,
Too good to be true.
How do I thank you for being a part of my life?
When you are the one who
gift life to me, without
remorse, regardless of the pain
you have to brave, everyday.
When YOU are my life,
my very world.
Hold my hand,
every step of the path.
Be my star of hope,
When the skies are dark.
My greatest ambition is
to do you proud,
Dedicate all my future success
and the beautiful things that
are mine,
Surrender all my appreciation
to you and see you get on
cloud nine.
No matter how much I
try to acknowledge you,
Your greatness dwarfs me
to being naive.
Momma dearest,
I love you with all I have.❤
There is no denying that all you mothers out there deserve the world, that an entire lifetime is insufficient to honour you, but this is a humble attempt to celebrate you.
Happy mother’s day to all you amazing mothers, beautiful ladies who yearn for motherhood, ones who have lost their kids, fathers who strive hard to fill the shoes of a mother for their children and everybody I might have missed out! Kudos to you!
Yours truly 💕,
The Ink Warrior.
